Most cars in this performance bracket are rear-wheel drive and go into storage in November. The GT-R is different: its all-wheel-drive system gives the feel and response of rear-wheel drive with the confidence of all-wheel drive, which changes what the car can do between Thanksgiving and April.

No. The GT-R uses a six-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifters across the range — a gearbox designed to change gears faster than a driver can with a clutch pedal.
Mechanically they share the 565-hp twin-turbo V6, the dual-clutch gearbox and all-wheel drive. The T-Spec adds semi-aniline leather-appointed front seats, the Mori Green with gold stitching interior treatment and a quilted Alcantara headliner, and it opens up heritage colors such as Millennium Jade and Midnight Purple.
The NISMO raises output to 600 horsepower and 481 lb-ft and adds a Nissan/Brembo Carbon Ceramic Braking System, NISMO-tuned suspension and a NISMO aerodynamic body design. It’s the most track-focused GT-R Nissan builds.
Its all-wheel drive makes the GT-R far more usable in winter than most cars with this kind of performance. As with any high-performance car, tires do most of the work — talk to us about a winter setup if you plan to drive it year-round on the North Shore.
