The Nissan LEAF puts real technology behind that idea: apps that manage your charging and route planning, an interior built around comfort, and driver-assist systems that actively help you drive more safely. Here’s what that actually looks like, model by model.
Stay Connected From Anywhere
Your Nissan EV pairs with the MyNISSAN app, and that app does more than replace an old trip computer. It lets you manage charging, plan routes around chargers, and keep an eye on your vehicle’s health from wherever you are, before you’ve even walked out the door. One app covers both the current LEAF and the ARIYA — here’s what it does.
The MyNISSAN App
The MyNISSAN app keeps you connected to your ARIYA from your phone:
- Intelligent Route Planner — build a route and it factors in charging stops along the way.
- Remote Charging — start, stop, or schedule a charge without walking out to the car.
- Maintenance Reminders — automatic alerts based on your actual mileage, not a generic reminder.
- Remote Battery Status — check charge and range without getting in the car.
- Charging Station Information — nearby chargers with distance and charger type.
- Driving Analysis — see how you’re actually driving, with tips to get more range out of it.
- Plug & Charge — plug in at a participating charger and it bills automatically. No app tapping, no card.
Driving a 2025 LEAF or older? Yours uses the NissanConnect EV & Services app instead — it does the same job, it’s just the previous generation’s version. Ask us if you’re not sure which applies to your car.
Comfort and Interior Tech
The redesigned LEAF’s cabin is a long way from the first-generation car’s: available heated front seats and steering wheel, dual displays, and wireless connectivity, in a package built around ease of use rather than lounge-style extras. If you’re looking at a pre-owned ARIYA, that’s the more indulgent of the two — available heated and cooled front seats, available heated rear outboard seats, extra sound isolation, a Memory System for seat, wheel and mirror positions, and a Head-Up Display. Come sit in whichever one we have on the lot; this is a section that reads better from the driver’s seat.
Driver Assist and Safety Technology
Nissan splits driver-assist tech into two different jobs — worth understanding the difference before you assume one covers the other:
Safety Shield® 360 — standard on both LEAF and ARIYA.
This is a reactive safety suite: it watches for hazards around your vehicle and warns you or intervenes before a collision, rather than actively driving for you. It includes:
- Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection
- Blind Spot Warning
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert
- Lane Departure Warning
- High Beam Assist
- Rear Automatic Braking
ProPILOT Assist — standard, and different by model.
This is a proactive system: it actively helps maintain your following distance and keeps you centered in your lane, mainly built to ease the fatigue of highway driving. What you get depends on the vehicle:
- The 2026 LEAF has ProPILOT Assist on every grade — it maintains a set following distance and adapts to traffic flow, hands on the wheel.
- The ARIYA came in two tiers: ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link on most grades, and ProPILOT Assist 2.0 on the top e-4ORCE grade. The 2.0 version uses high-definition 3-D map data and lets an attentive driver take their hands off the wheel under certain conditions in single-lane highway traffic — which is worth knowing if you’re shopping a pre-owned one, because it isn’t on every ARIYA.
Ask us which tier is included on the specific ARIYA trim you’re considering, since it’s not the same across the whole lineup.
